Event Details/Other Comments:

The Conference follows the HPSNO95 and the HPSNO97 conferences, whose goal
was putting together recent progress in computer technology with the latest
algorithmic developments in the field of numerical optimization. It represents
an exciting challenge for researchers dealing with large real-world
applications. Additionally, the conference provides an overview on advances
in the field of nonlinear optimization, including algorithms, software
evaluation, implementation issues, applications and future areas of research,
presented by expert researchers in the field.
HPSNO 2004 aims to deal with all these topics, supplying a broad overview of
the optimization landscape and promoting research activities and cooperation
among scientists in the field. The Conference will include lectures given by
guest speakers and by authors of selected contributed papers. The list of
invited speakers includes: P.M. Pardalos, M. Wright, J. T. Linderoth,
Paul Messina, C. Floudas, R. Vanderbei, and S. Leyffe
