D.C. POLICY PANEL ON CHALLENGES TO HEALTH CARE IN AMERICA PRECEDES PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

WASHINGTON, DC, October 7, 2008 – Seeking new policy tools to tackle major problems in health care will be the subject of a major speech and panel held three weeks before the U.S. Presidential election at the annual meeting of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS®).

The entire series, “Doing Good with Good O.R.” (operations research) will take place in Washington, D.C. at the Marriott Waldman Park Hotel and Omni Shoreham Hotel. It will be held on October 14 and 15. Information is at www.informs.org.

The plenary speaker for the session is Dr. Steven B. Cohen, Director of the Director, Center for Financing, Access, and Cost Trends at the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
